Tirupur exporters' assn concern

Knitwear exporters from Tirupur have expressed apprehension over the continuation of the strike by the State Bank of India employees and have appealed to the Government to end the strike.

The Tirupur Exporters' Association in a communication said the strike if continued would severely impact the functioning of the export houses. Exporters are unable to negotiate money instruments and they are also to execute huge export orders won on stiff competition, it said.

Hence, the association askedi the Government and the bank management to solve the problem at the earliest so that the bank operation resumes at the earliest.
