Mumbai , April 4

Dubai Gold and Commodities Exchange (DGCX) plans to launch options on gold and silver in the last quarter of the year.

The exchange, which recently commenced trading in silver futures, has been accorded approval by the Emirates Securities and Commodities Authority to launch currency futures.

It plans to trade futures contracts in three currencies - euro-dollar, yen-dollar and sterling-dollar - with contracts maturing in March, June, September and December each year. The exchange had earlier launched gold futures. According to Mr Colin Griffith, Chairman, DGCX, India stands at the second position in its representation as members of the exchange.
