Central Coalfields project approved

New Delhi, April 5

The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) on Wednesday approved the sanctioning of Ashok opencast expansion project of Central Coalfields Ltd at an incremental investment of Rs 471.66 crore and an incremental completion cost of Rs 553.89 crore. The CCEA also gave its nod for floating and approval of tenders and award of work for further expansion of the project from 6.5 million tonnes per year to 10 mt envisaged under emergency coal production plan with re-appropriation and re-phasing of capital proposed for the project.
