GAIL (India) Ltd has bagged the prestigious Sarvashreshtha Suraksha Puraskar for the year 2005 for liquefied petroleum gas plant, Vijaipur, Madhya Pradesh. Mr S.P. Rao, Director (Projects), GAIL, received the award from Mr Chandrashekhar Sahu, Union Minister for Labour, at Vigyan Bhawan, on Wednesday during the 11th National conference on safety, health and environment, organised by the National Safety Council.

According to a statement issued here, the company said that its LPG plant at Lakwa, Assam and the LPG plant at Usar and the HVJ compressor station, Dibiyapur in Uttar Pradesh, received the Suraksha Puraskar and Prashansa Patra respectively for the year 2005.
