Toonz plans sequel to `Hanuman'

The Thiruvananthapuram-based Toonz Animation India has tied up with Percept Picture Company to co-produce the sequel to `Hanuman', the highly successful full-length animation film produced by the latter.

For Toonz, a major provider of animation to top producers in Europe and the US, this is the first co-production with Percept Picture.

According to Mr Jaya Kumar, Chief Executive Officer of Toonz Animation, the children will now get to watch the story of "Hanuman" solving today's problems. The film will be directed by Mr V.G. Samant.

Toonz, founded in 1999, has a clientele, which include big names in the media and entertainment field such as Marvel, Hallmark, Paramount and Cartoon Network.

For Percept Picture Company, this will be the second animation film after the first part of "Hanuman." The company has plans to produce more films aimed at entertaining children, said Mr Mahesh Ramanathan, Chief Operating Officer, Percept Picture Company.
