C-DAC unveils 3 software offerings

The Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) has released three new products - Mercury Web interface - an add-on Web-based access system for its Integrated Telemedicine Solution called Mercury - Prakriti Vichaya, an ayurveda-based software solution for evaluating the unique `prakriti' of an individual, and Real Time Technology for Atmospheric Research, a portable and Web-based software for regional simulations of the atmosphere.

Mr S. Ramakrishnan, Director-General, C-DAC, said that the Mercury Web interface has been designed to provide Web-based teleconsultation models that could function over the Internet. It can be interfaced through Web, Internet, intranet, or even wirelessly.

Atmospheric research

The output obtained from the Real Time technology could be used for understanding the condition of the atmosphere over the region.The numerical data is further processed to obtain information on atmospheric states and parameters in graphical and animated format; this information could be disseminated through the Internet in real time.

On Prakriti Vichaya, he said that `prakriti' plays an important role in the prevention, diagnostics, and treatment of diseases. The software is a solution for psychological constitution assessment and tissue quality assessment in ayurveda.
