During the financial year ending March 2006, the company sold 66,667 tractors against a target of 60,000, it had set for itself in June 2005 when it acquired Eicher's tractor business.

Sales doubled over the previous year when it sold 33,448 tractors and its market share was 23 per cent.

Exports accounted for Rs 170 crore, against about Rs 85 crore the previous year.

According to company officials, TAFE's tractor business is expected to end 2005-06 with a turnover of Rs 2,200 crore against Rs 1,300 crore in the previous year.

The release quoting Ms Mallika Srinivasan, Director, TAFE, said that integration of Eicher's business is paying off. Six new products under the MF, Eicher and TAFE brands were released and well received in the market.

The buoyancy is spread across all divisions of the company and not just in tractors. The company plans to accelerate this momentum in the coming year, the release said.
