US co SVIP eyes partnerships

SV Investment Partners (SVIP), formerly known as Schroder Ventures US, a US-based private equity investment firm is looking at partnerships with local players to tap opportunities in the Indian market.

Mr Nicholas E. Somers, partner, SV Investment Partners said the company, which manages about $300-million in capital, was in talks with an investment firm and expects to finalise its plans sometime next year.

Two of SVIP's portfolio companies, ThoughtWorks and International Decision Systems (IDS) are currently operating in India through their development centres in Bangalore. SVIP has invested about $30 million each in both these companies, he said.
