Colombo, Tuticorin dedicated feeder services

Our Bureau

Chennai , April 7

Maersk and Mediterranean Shipping Company are to commence dedicated feeder services between Colombo and Tuticorin Container Terminal (TCT), the private container terminal run by PSA Sical Terminals Ltd.

MSC vessels will call at Tuticorin once a week while Maersk will send two weekly services to the terminal. With dedicated feeders, shippers using TCT will be assured of the shortest transit time in connecting to mainline ships in Colombo, according to a PSA Sical press release.

The addition of these services and the ongoing developments will strengthen the terminal's position as the preferred port of call for shippers and shipping lines. The developments include construction of a container freight station, inland container depot and four-laning of roads, the release said.
