Indo-German Training Centre (IGTC), the education wing of Indo-German Chamber of Commerce, intends to raise student intake from 24 to 40 at its Chennai centre for the next academic term, commencing September.
The centre runs management institutes in Mumbai and Chennai from where it conducts post graduate diploma courses in business administration (PGDBA). The 18-month full-time PGBDA is conducted in co-operation with the University of Cooperative Education (Berufsakademie) Karlsruhe, Germany.
Under the `dual-system' approach the course adopts, students are given both classroom and on-the-job training at (German) companies in India.
In Mumbai, 14 batches have taken the course and, according to Mr Bernhard Steinruecke, Director General, Indo-German Chamber of Commerce, "all the students have been successfully placed in jobs."
In Chennai, the centre started the course six months ago and is now inviting applications for the second batch. Applications close on June 15.
