New Nabard Chairman

Mumbai, April 7

Mr Y.S.P. Thorat, Managing Director, Nabard, has been elevated to the position of Chairman of the bank. Mr Thorat joined Nabard in 2004, said a press release.

Prior to that he was the Reserve Bank of India Executive Director. He has also served as RBI nominee on the boards of Oriental Bank of Commerce, Punjab National Bank, IDFC, Exim Bank and ECGC.

Mr Thorat's recent report on Credit Deposit Ratio has been accepted by the Union Government.
