Bangalore , April 7

International Decision Systems (IDS), a provider of asset finance portfolio management software and services, plans to triple the headcount at its development centre in Bangalore as it seeks to drive product engineering from the centre.

Mr Todd Davis, President, said that the company was expanding Bangalore operations to add product development capabilities on a global scale. The company currently has a team about 50 people, which would be tripled by 2008.

IDS has already invested $500,000 in the Bangalore centre and a similar investment would be made before 2008 for creation of additional infrastructure, he added.

"The Bangalore global development centre is going to thrive as the technology hub for software development to serve the majority of the world's leasing and asset finance corporations."The centre would be integral in implementation of IDS's products such as Profina and Rapport, the asset and leasing management software.

Mr Srikanth Sundararajan, Managing Director of IDS's India operations, said that the Bangalore centre was an important extension of the domain expertise with the company in the US and the UK.
