The Rotary Club of Madras will present the `Business Line Corporate Quiz' on Sunday, April 16, at Taj Connemara, Chennai.

Mr Bharat Epur, an avid quizzer himself and a popular quizmaster, will host the show. The participants and the audience have an opportunity to win prizes worth more than Rs 12 lakh, including two tickets to Los Angeles, exotic holidays in Europe/USA, white goods, premium leather goods and apparel, laptops, personal computers, DVD players, home theatre systems and many more prizes. Those interested in participating can register online by logging on to the Web site: www.rotaryclubofmadras.org.

The event will bring together the best quizzing talent in the country, drawn from leading companies in banking, information technology, engineering and the services sector. The theme of this year's quiz is `business and industry'.

Last year's quiz, in which 42 teams participated, was won by a team from Infosys. This is the third edition of the corporate quiz and prizes offered have grown from the Rs 2 lakh in the first edition of the quiz in 2004.

The Rotary Club of Madras is amongst the oldest Rotary Clubs in India, with a 76-year-old history of service to the community. The corporate quiz is an annual fund-raiser that seeks to support worthy community service initiatives, including some projects that date back to August 1947!

The main sponsor of the quiz is Hutch while the event also has a host of co-sponsors in Air-India, Intex, CavinKare and Godrej. The event will also be telecast by Doordarshan on April 23, 6.30 pm.

Each team will be required to contribute Rs. 4,000 by way of a demand draft in favour of Rotary Club of Madras Charitable Trust, payable at Chennai. This amount would be utilised by the Rotary Club of Madras towards its community service projects.
