In a notice to BSE, Satyam has indicated that during the meeting, it is likely to consider the final dividend for the financial year 2005-2006. The company is poised to cross the $1-billion in revenues for the first time. Going by the current revenue rate, and the company's performance in the first three quarters, the Satyam management had indicated that it would potentially cross the $1-billion mark, taking it into a select league of Indian companies in this club. A bonus offer could just be the right reward for its shareholders. This move is close on the heels of similar proposal by Infosys. The Satyam Chairman, Mr B. Ramalinga Raju, during the company's Q3 numbers conference, had hinted that the company would be the fastest to hit the $1-billion mark. Satyam shares ended the day higher at Rs 836.05 as against previous close of Rs 816.25, reflecting a change of 2.43 per cent at the NSE.
