HCL Tech pact with Wavesat

IT solutions provider HCL Technologies and Wavesat, a developer of WiMAX silicon and development platform, have announced an alliance, under which the companies would share software and baseband expertise to develop low-cost WiMAX solutions.

The first of several products to be jointly developed by the two companies would be launched in the first half of 2006, a company release said here.

"HCL Technologies and Wavesat have announced a partnership which will leverage Wavesat's Evolutive WiMAX DM256 Series, along with HCL's WiMax MAC IP and Datacom engineering expertise to develop high-performance and low-cost solutions," the release said.
