Telecommunications States - Tamil Nadu Reliance Info sites expansion in TN Our Bureau
Chennai , April 11 Reliance Infocomm will cover 110 sites in Tamil Nadu in the third phase of its expansion project in the State. The company will spend Rs 50 crore on the phase, which will be completed by May 31, according to Mr V. G. Somasekhar, Circle Chief Executive Officer, Reliance. He told a press conference that in the second phase, the company covered 600 towns and 10,000 villages. Overall, the company had a growth rate of 100 per cent in the last year to a subscriber base of 15 lakh (as opposed to 7.5 lakh subscribers last year). Of this, 95 per cent are mobile phone subscribers, while 5 per cent are fixed line. The company will begin a marketing campaign on April 14 to announce the completion of its second phase.
