The Indian Machine Tools Manufacturers Association will conduct Productivity Summit, a three-day summit on "Unleashing the power of productivity in metal working" in Chennai from April 20-22. According to an association release, the objective is to highlight the issues in metal working industries and share experiences of industry leaders in increasing productivity. This summit will bring together experts from a wide range of segments - automotive, tool rooms, aerospace, Defence and Railway establishments, pumps and valves, consumer durables, general engineering, machine tools, and other manufacturing industries. Over 500 delegates from a wide cross-section of the metal working industries all over India are expected to participate at this summit. Between January and December 2005, the domestic machine tool manufacturers' sales were estimated at Rs 1,230 crore, clocking 22 per cent growth, the release said
