Karzai woos Indian cos to Kabul

Hyderabad , April 11

The visiting Afghanistan Premier, Mr Hamid Karzai, has invited Indian corporates to invest in joint ventures in the country's capital Kabul and extended full support from his Government.

Mr Karzai, who is leading a delegation from on Afghanistan on a 24- hour visit to the city, visited the Cyber Towers in Hitec City.

At Hitech City, the L&T Infocity Chief, Mr Sridharan, made a presentation.

Looking for help

Mr Karzai said his country was looking to help in the areas of technology, education and setting up joint ventures with Indian entrepreneurs.

He commended India's efforts in providing quality education, which was paying rich dividends now. Also, the country has been recognised for its investment potential and is attracting foreign investors, said Mr Karzai.

The Afghan President and his team also visited the National Remote Sensing Agency (NRSA). NRSA presented satellite imageries of Mr Karzai's palace in Afghanistan and gave an overview of the potential of remote sensing.

The Afghan delegation will also visit the National Institute of Rural Development and call on the Chief Minister and the State Governor.
