Silver declines; gold steady

Mumbai , April 12

Silver prices reacted at the higher level while gold remained steady on the local bullion market on Wednesday on some local offerings. Silver (.999 fineness) was down Rs 260 at Rs 19,075 per kg over previous close. Pure gold prices were up Rs 25 at Rs 8,825 per 10 gm. Standard mint prices were steady at Rs 8,770 per 10 gm.

Chennai: Bar silver: Rs 19,210; retail silver (per gm): Rs 20.55; Standard gold: Rs 8,860; retail ornament gold (22 carat per gm): Rs 820.

Kolkata: Silver ready: Rs 18,800; Gold ready: Rs 8,900.
