Edible oils rule weak

All major edible oils ruled weak on the local edible oil market on Thursday on some offerings amid increased inflows. Castor oil ruled weak on continued offerings. Castor seed futures ended higher on fresh buying support.

Groundnut oil raw was down Re 1 at Rs 477 per 10 kg in line with Gujarat market. Imported refined soya oil was down Rs 3 at Rs 378 per 10 kg. Crude soya oil was down Re 1 at Rs 361 per 10 kg. Sunflower oil expeller was up Rs 3 at Rs 405 per 10 kg. Castor oil commercial grade was down Rs 2 at Rs 325 per 10 kg. RBD palmolein was down Rs 2 at Rs 379 per 10 kg. In futures segment, castor seed June contracts were Rs 10 higher at Rs 1,592 per quintal on scattered local support.

Sugar firm

Sugar spot prices ruled firm on the wholesale market on Thursday on scattered buying.

Small grade (S-30) was up Rs 5 at Rs 1,940/1,985 a quintal over previous day. Medium grade (M-30) was up Rs 10 at Rs 1,980/2,040 a quintal.
