Palmolein moves up

RBD palmolein and refined soya oil moved up on the local edible oil market on Friday on some renewed buying interest. Castor oil ruled steady on stray buying. Castor seed futures ended weak on fresh selling.

RBD palmolein was up Rs 2 at Rs 381 per 10 kg. Groundnut oil raw was steady at Rs 477 per 10 kg. Imported refined soya oil was up Rs 2 at Rs 380 per 10 kg. Crude soya oil was up Re 1 at Rs 362 per 10 kg.

Sunflower oil expeller was steady at Rs 405 per 10 kg. Castor oil commercial grade was steady at Rs 325 per 10 kg.

In futures segment, castor seed June contracts were Rs 4 lower at Rs 1,588 per quintal on stray buying.

Sugar steady

Sugar spot prices ruled steady at the Vashi wholesale market on Friday in the absence of continued buying amid scattered offerings. Small grade (S-30) was down Rs 4 at Rs 1,940-1,981 per quintal over previous day. Medium grade (M-30) was steady at Rs 1,980-2,040 per quintal.
