Micro-credit

This is with reference to the article, "Micro-credit: Looking beyond group lending," (Business Line, April 14): This sort of rural finance is successful because it involves group lending.

Is there a need to go beyond group lending? Why not upgrade to mega group lending and super mega group lending?Value-addition, such as insurance support for micro-credit, can be designed. The effective financial weapon to uplift the rural masses is no doubt, micro-credit.Any change in the dispensation of micro-credit must be thoroughly analysed so that it does not affect its purpose.
