Power cuts

About nine crore people living in Andhra Pradesh are expected to suffer this summer due to power cuts.

Cutting power supply should be the last option in times of power scarcity.

The first option should be to see that power is not wasted.

Disciplinary action should be taken against those wasting power, especially in the government offices. Second, those pilferaging power should be punished.

Detection of power thefts needs to be intensified. Third, productivity in the power generating plants should be increased.

Finally, wastage of water in the agriculture sector should be minimised.
