Rallis India net up 27 pc

Rallis India Ltd today reported a 26.95-per cent growth in net profit for 2005-06, at Rs 42.53 crore from the previous corresponding Rs 33.50 crore. This is its highest profit in 10 years, an official statement said. The board has recommended a dividend of 40 per cent to equity shareholders and 7.5 per cent to preference shareholders. The company's net sales/income from operations rose 5.23 per cent to Rs 615.15 crore (Rs 584.56 crore for the year-ago period). While interest nearly halved and depreciation held steady for the full year, the company's FY06 other income included Rs 10.66 crore as profit on the sale of a business. For the quarter ended March 31, 2006, Rallis India posted a lower net profit of Rs 3.07 crore (Rs 4.01 crore) on net sales/income of Rs 118.59 crore (Rs 113.67 crore).
