Dairy & Dairy Products States - Maharashtra Pune to host India Dairy Congress Our Bureau
The Maharashtra Ministry for Dairy Development and Animal Husbandry and Mahanand Dairy, the apex body of the State's milk co-operatives are supporting the event. The conference is expected to bring together various stakeholders in the dairy industry who would discuss issues relating to production, processing, marketing, value addition and exports. Experts would share their insights on global market dynamics, role of private sector and co-operatives, supply chain management, role of biotechnology as also health and food law related issues. The Maharashtra Minister for Dairy Development, Mr Anees Ahmed, will inaugurate the event, Mr Ravi Doraiswamy of Radical Communications, the event organisers told Business Line. The State is the country's fifth largest milk producer and lost its rank from the third because of falling output. One session focusing on Maharashtra's dairy sector would examine in-depth the co-operative movement and how to make the State dairying drought-proof.
