Airlines States - Karnataka Singapore Airlines cuts fares on Bangalore route Our Bureau
Bangalore , April 18 Singapore Airlines has reduced its fares on Bangalore-Singapore route to Rs 4,999, which is nearly 70 per cent less than the airline's current lowest economy return fare to Singapore-Bangalore. A press statement from the airline said the fare excludes taxes/surcharges of Rs 6,100 that has to be paid additionally. The airline's general manager for India, Mr B.K. Ong, said Karnataka continues to be an important market for the airline. This discounted fare is on sale from April 17 to April 29, and for travel out of Bangalore from April 17 to May 31. Outbound travel is restricted to travel on Sunday, Monday, Thursday and Friday flights only, while return can be made on any flight as per availability. Singapore Airlines operates 47 weekly flights to eight destinations in India. In addition, its subsidiary regional airline SilkAir operates five flights to Kochi and four flights to Thiruvananthapuram. A Star Alliance member, the airline flies to 91 destinations in 37 countries and will be the first airline in the world to fly the Airbus A380 in 2006.
