Edible oils suffer setback

All major edible oils reacted at the higher level on the local edible oil market on Wednesday on some fresh offerings by stockists amid restricted buying.

Castor oil, on the other hand, moved up on some local enquiries. Castor seed June futures moved up further on some support.

RBD palmolein was down Re 1 at Rs 377 per 10 kg. Groundnut oil raw was down Re 1 at Rs 477 per 10 kg.

Imported refined soya oil was steady at Rs 380 per 10 kg. Crude soya oil was down Rs 3 at Rs 364 per 10 kg. Sunflower oil expeller was down Rs 5 at Rs 400 per 10 kg.

Castor oil commercial grade was up Rs 2 at Rs 327 per 10 kg. In futures segment, castorseed June contracts were Rs 10 higher to end at Rs 1,572 per quintal.

Maize, bajra down

New Delhi: In thin trading, maize and bajra drifted in the wholesale grains market on sluggish demand from consuming industries and shed some ground.

Maize quoted lower at Rs 675-680 per quintal against last close of Rs 685-690 on poor demand.

Bajra also showed weakness and declined to Rs 660-665 per quintal from Rs 665-670.
