SCR bags Rs 1-cr award

Hyderabad, April 19

The South Central Railway (SCR) has bagged a cash award of Rs 1 crore for achieving the highest freight loading during the month of January. The zone also received a `Group Cash Award' of Rs 10 lakh in appreciation of its work to enhance the carrying capacity of goods wagons, according to an SCR press release. Both the awards were presented by the Railway Minister, Mr Lalu Prasad, to Mr D N Mathur, General Manager of SCR, recently in Delhi. Incidentally, the SCR also received the `Security Shield' of the Railways for 2005.
