Bharatmatrimony ties up with Dept of Posts

Bharatmatrimony.com, the matrimonial portal, has tied up with the Department of Posts to provide registration and membership services through 674 head post offices in 17 circles across India, according to Mr J. Murugavel, Chief Executive Officer, BharatMatrimony.com.

He told presspersons that presently, two membership packages would be available, Classic and Classic Super, the charge ranging from Rs 1,190 to Rs 3,810 depending on the package and the duration of the membership, that ranges from three to nine months.

Individuals could avail themselves of the membership by obtaining scratch cards and registration forms at the post offices, and then sending the form to a nearby BharatMatrimony.com office. Existing free memberships could also be upgraded by purchasing one of the cards, he said.

Mr Muruguvel said that the portal hada membership of about 75 lakh. Out of this less than 20 per cent waspaid subscription. He said that with the tie-up with the Department of Posts, conservative estimates of three or four registrations per month per post office would generate a revenue of about Rs 12 crore in a year. He said the company expected about three times that amount.
