Wipro promoters take home Rs 580 cr

The promoters of Wipro Ltd will take home a dividend of over Rs 580 crore this year.

The company has announced cash dividend of Rs 5 per share, subject to shareholder approval at the AGM in July.

The promoters own 116,11,36,260 shares, amounting to 81.73 per cent of the paid-up equity.

The Chairman, Mr Azim Premji, as an individual holds over five crore shares amounting to 3.94 per cent of the paid-up equity as per the filing with the BSE.

This entitles him to dividend payout of close to Rs 28 crore.

Other entities in which Mr Premji has interests hold the remaining 78 per cent stake in Wipro.
