Rising value-addition

DOWN IN VOLUME: Spices on sale at Broadway market in Kochi. Exports of value-added spices increased last fiscal by Rs 7.97 to Rs 2,033 crore compared with the previous fiscal.

Value-added spices share in forex earnings has increased 50 per cent despite the volume dropping by 17,153 tonnes to 2.90 lakh tonnes.The Spices Board sees tremendous potential for exports of these to Europe and the US.
