Credit Market Industry & Economy - SSI United Bank in pact with SMERA Our Bureau
Kolkata , April 21 United Bank of India (UBI) has entered into a tie-up with SME Rating Agency India Ltd (SMERA) to increase the bank's lending to SMEs. An MoU between the two was signed on Thursday.The arrangement, according to a release from by UBI, will help the bank take quick decisions while lending to this sector. The bank has a SME portfolio of Rs 1,600 crore and wishes to increase its exposure to this sector substantially during the current year. The bank, which offers loans to SMEs at concessional rates ranging from 7.5 per cent to 11 per cent, has already joined hands with Dun & Bradstreet Information Services and Crisil for credit rating of the SME segment.It has also formulated a policy on funding debt restructuring and one-time settlement for the SMEs, the release added.
