HCL Info Q3 net up 29 pc

Declares Rs 2 per share interim

New Delhi , April 24

IT major HCL Infosystems Ltd on Monday posted a 29.1 per cent increase in consolidated net profit for the third quarter ended March 31, 2006 to Rs 84.4 crore against Rs 65.40 crore in the year-ago period, while the company's gross sales rose almost 60 per cent.

HCLclocked gross sales of Rs 3,211.23 crore on a consolidated basis during the quarter, against Rs 2,011.82 crore notched in the corresponding period the pervious year.

Revenue from computer systems and other related products (gross) was up 27 per cent to Rs 682.2 crore, from Rs 537.02 crore in the quarter ended March 2005, while the telecommunication and office automation business grew by 72.1 per cent to Rs 2,525.2 crore. The board of directors has declared a third quarterly interim dividend of Rs 2 per share (100 per cent on an equity share of par value of Rs 2 each).
