The Executive Director of Videsh Sanchar Nigam Ltd (VSNL), Mr N. Srinath, has been named `Telecom CEO of the Year' by publishing group Telecom Asia in the 2006 edition of their awards.

The award is in recognition of Mr Srinath's role in transforming VSNL from a domestic monopoly to a major global telecom company in just four years, according to a statement issued by VSNL.
