SPEL's net profit trebles

Chennai, April 27

SPEL Semiconductors Ltd has reported a net profit of Rs 5.8 crore for the year 2005-06, compared to Rs 1.4 crore posted in the previous year. The company, which is into assembly and testing of integrated chips, achieved a turnover of Rs 46.28 crore, 27 per cent higher than the previous year. Though a press release from the company mentioned about "a proposed overseas acquisition," details were not available.
