Lanco Group institutes national awards

Hyderabad , April 30

Lanco Institute of General Humanitarian Trust (LIGHT), a registered public charitable trust formed by the Hyderabad-based $ 300-million Lanco Group, has on Saturday instituted Lanco Awards to honour role models who make a difference and inspire others to replicate their successes.

Addressing newspersons, the Lanco Group Chairman, Mr Lagadapati Rajagopal, said these national awards would be presented every year during January to individuals or institutions working with commitment in their respective fields towards betterment of society.

Five awards would be presented each year from the specified categories that include education; healthcare; law, justice and human rights; public awareness and advocacy; and leadership, public service and community development. The awards would consist of a trophy and a citation besides cash of Rs 5 lakh for each category.
