Mumbai/ Delhi, May 1

The Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Ltd has received 30 MW power from the Dabhol power plant on Monday, a company official confirmed.

"We received 20 MW initially at 5.20 p.m. and the balance later." This is against the commitment of 100 MW," said the official.

The full commitment from the plant is of 650 MW, generation of which is expected to take sometime, he said. According to sources, one turbine in the block-II of the plant commenced operation on Monday.

Meanwhile, the Government officials in Delhi said the project is still in various stages of trials and re-runs and that it was being run for less than an hour a day. They said it would take about a week or more for the station to achieve the three-hour run on naptha as fuel, as per plans firmed up earlier. "Full-fledged commercial operations and regular flow of power to the grid is expected to take a few days time," an official said.
