The Governor of Meghalaya, Mr M.M. Jacob, inaugurated the new Computer-to-Plate (CtP) machine installed at the St Joseph's Press here on Wednesday. Imported from Canada, the CtP Trendsetter system offers end-to-end automation in printing and has a capacity to produce 20 plates per hour. According to Brother Jacob Korakkal, Manager of the Press, the CtP system will reduce wastage of printing paper to almost nil and ink to 30 per cent, leading to significant cost savings.
