Opinion - Alternative Medicines

Ayurveda and yoga, not IT

Most Indians think it is the IT success story that has created mind space for India in the global arena, but that may not be totally true. A colleague just back from Germany found that young Germans at the Hannover Technology Fair associated India with wide ranging things but not necessarily IT.

When she asked several students there as to what comes to their mind when they think of India, the responses were interesting. All that one student knew of India was the Indo-Pak conflict. "India is a big country, with many cultures, many languages and good food," said another. Another `knowledgeable' young German said India meant Ayurveda and Yoga to her.
