Record delivery in cardamom on MCX

MCX has recorded highest physical deliveries of cardamom in its just concluded April contract.

Total deliveries of cardamom recorded for this contract were 138 quintals.

The exchange introduced cardamom futures contracts on February 14, 2006. So far, the exchange has attracted 2,871 trades valued at Rs 75.37 crore, with an average daily volume of around 460 quintals, MCX release said.

A volume of 2,229 quintals was recorded on April 28, 2006.

The exchange has plans to increase the number of contracts in cardamom to meet the hedging requirements of farmers and traders in cardamom during the ensuing 2006-07 cardamom season starting July 2006.
