State Bank of Bikaner and Jaipur has reported a net profit of Rs 145.03 crore for the year ended March 31, 2006, as compared to a net profit of Rs 205.65 crore recorded in the previous year.

A statement issued by the bank said that the lower net profit was on account of reduction in profit from sale of investments, reduction in government commission, increase in staff remuneration and higher provision for standard assets.

The operating profit for the year 2005-06 stood at Rs 592.37 crore (Rs 729.64 crore). The bank has declared a dividend of 65 per cent (Rs 65 per share).
