SREI Infra up on stake sale buzz

Shares of SREI Infrastructure Finance hit the 20 per cent upper circuit on good volumes on market buzz that a leading financial institution may pick up substantial stake in the company, dealers said.

The shares hit Rs 68.50 compared to the previous close of Rs 57.10 on the BSE.

The Kolkata-based company recently received shareholders' approval for issuing shares in the overseas and domestic markets, they said.

Compared to average trades of 5.97 lakh shares, on Thursday, the counter saw volumes of over 34 lakh shares.

On the NSE, over 43 lakh shares were traded.
