Praxair bags SAIL contract

Bangalore, May 5

Praxair India has bagged the contract from the Steel Authority of India Ltd (SAIL) to build and operate an on-site industrial gas plant at the site of SAIL's steel plant in Durgapur. Praxair will build, own and operate the 700 tonnes per day cryogenic air separation plant to meet the steel plant's requirements. The plant, which will be commissioned in 2008 will also supply liquid oxygen, nitrogen and argon for customers in eastern India after meeting SAIL's requirements.
