User can record a message up to 30 seconds currently

Hyderabad , May 5

IMImobile, a technology provider for mobile applications, has developed Talking SMS, where a subscriber can send a message in any language.

This comes close on the heels of hugely successful VideoTone, which was developed for Nokia. The Talking SMS was launched in association with Aircel in Tamil Nadu. Within two weeks, Aircel recorded over 1 crore messages.

Through talking SMS, a subscriber can record his message and send it to another subscriber like an SMS, adding the feel of sound and emotions to the communication. The service is language agnostic and carries personal emotions, which written SMS cannot capture. A subscriber has to dial a number followed by the recipient number. He is directed to an Interactive Voice Response System. The user can record a message up to 30 seconds currently. There is a built in option to edit the messages too.
