Dr Lalji Singh, Director, Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB), here has been selected for the J.C. Bose National Fellowship. Instituted by the Department of Science and Technology (DST) in August 2005, the Fellowship is intended to boost scientific research. It recognises the performing scientists and engineers of the country, below the age of 60 years, for their outstanding performance and contributions. The Fellowship carries a contingency of Rs 5 lakh a year towards conference participation and other expenses as well as Rs 20,000 per month in addition to the regular salary. It is for a five-year term.
