Events Dubai meet on air traffic in September Our Bureau
Kolkata , May 9 Dubai will host a two-day global symposium on air traffic liberalisation on September 18-19 under the aegis of the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO). According to ICAO Journal, the symposium would be the first such global event organised by ICAO after the World Air Transport Conference in 2003. The Dubai symposium is expected to draw from and build on the outcome of the 2003 conference, which is stated to have produced the guiding material and policy framework for liberalisation. The symposium is expected to provide a forum for states to share their experiences with liberalisation. While the symposium has been primarily organised for government policymakers, air traffic agreement negotiators and aviation regulators, it will be open to all stakeholders in the global aviation industry, including those interested in air transport regulatory policy, financiers, consultants and academics. According to ICAO Journal, the symposium will delve into topical and practical issues in international air transport regulation. The panelists would represent a cross-section of states, regions and entities.
