CCEA nod for HNL expansion

New Delhi, May 9

The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs today approved the expansion-cum-diversification of Hindustan Newsprint Ltd with a capital outlay of Rs 718 crore. The Union Cabinet gave its approval for introduction of a Bill in Parliament to amend the Indian Telegraph Act 1885. This is being done with a view to covering cellular services in addition to basic telegraphic services within the scope of the USO Fund.
