MSP for jute raised

The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) has approved a minimum support price (MSP) of Rs 1,000 per quintal for TD-5 grade of jute ex-Assam for 2006-07 season. This price has been approved on the recommendations of the Commission for Agriculture Costs and Prices (CACP). The MSP of TD-5 grade of jute ex-Assam for the 2005-06 season was Rs 910 per quintal, the Parliamentary Affairs Minister, Mr Priyaranjan Dasmunshi, told reporters.
