Proposal drawn to revive IDPL

Industry associations agree to pledge funds

Hyderabad , May 10

A joint proposal by the Government and pharmaceutical industry promises to revive the fortunes of the sick IDPL (Indian Drugs and Pharmaceuticals Limited).

At a meeting here on Wednesday, representatives from the Government and pharma industry associations have decided to set up a centre of excellence to train human resources required for the pharma industry. The facility would also carry out clinical research.

Forming a society

Ms Satwant Reddy, Secretary, Department of Chemicals and Petrochemicals (Govt of India), and members of the associations have decided to form a society, involving IDPL, National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER) and Nizam's Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS).
