Edible oils improve further

All major edible oil prices improved further on the local edible oil market on Thursday on continued buying interest amid reduced inflows. Castor seed June contracts ended higher on sustained buying support.

RBD palmolein was up Rs 2 at Rs 395 per 10 kg. Groundnut oil raw was up Rs 3 at Rs 468 per 10 kg. Imported refined soya oil was up Rs 2 at Rs 394 per 10 kg. Crude soya oil imported was up Rs 4 at Rs 375 per 10 kg. Sunflower oil expeller was up Re 1 at Rs 400 per 10 kg. Castor oil commercial grade was up Re 1 at Rs 325 per 10 kg.

In futures segment, castor seed June contracts opened at Rs 1,550 per quintal and ended higher at Rs 1,560 per quintal, up by Rs 40 over previous day on continued support.

Sugar firm

Sugar spot prices remained firm at the Vashi wholesale market on Thursday on continued buying from retailers.

Small grade (S-30) was steady at Rs 1,940/1,980 per quintal over previous day. Medium grade (M-30) was up a rupee at Rs 1,970/2,011 per quintal over previous close.
